PROJECT CONTEXT
ARQUUS, formerly Renault Trucks Defense and Panhard Defense, manufactures light armored vehicles equipped with gyro-stabilized remotely operated turrets. The stabilization quality of these relatively compact turrets is an essential component of these vehicles.
CUSTOMER REQUEST
During the development and fine-tuning of new products, the stabilization of the turrets must be tested in a reproducible way, and according to different cases of more or less uneven ground.
ARQUUS needs a test means to physically validate the performance of the turrets in stabilized mode.
REALIZATION
SYMETRIE provides a MISTRAL 600 P hexapod combining high load capacity and high dynamics to reproduce the movements of vehicle roofs where remotely operated turrets are installed.
This dynamic six-degree-of-freedom motion platform is entirely controlled by electronics and ergonomic software developed by SYMETRIE.
Compared to testing on outdoor tracks, the main advantages of the hexapod are the reproducibility and variety of tests, as well as the availability of equipment in a laboratory environment close to teams and facilities.
