Project background

THE FACULTY OF PHYSICS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY IS ONE OF THE LARGEST LABORATORIES OF PHYSICS IN AUSTRALIA. THE RESEARCH CARRIED OUT WITHIN THEIR QUANTIC CONTROL LABORATORY ARE CENTERED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW QUANTIC METROLOGY AND CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES WITH A FOCUS ON QUANTIC SENSORS AND COMPUTERS.

AT THE CENTER OF A 10-METER DIAMETER EXPERIENCE, 240 LASER BEAMS WILL CONVERT TO A 2 MM-DIAMETER DEUTERIUM AND TRITIUM TARGET.

CUSTOMER REQUEST

CEA needs a high accuracy positioning system (1 µm resolution) to adjust the micro-target at the centre of the test room and ensures the convergence of the 240 laser beams towards the centre.
