PROJECT CONTEXT
Bertin Technologies is a recognized space optics integrator. They design and manufacture optical test benches (OGSE: Optical Ground Support Equipment) for Tier 1 customers.
The very high-resolution space optics are intensively tested in order to characterize the instruments’ performance.
CUSTOMER REQUEST
Bertin Technologies wants to carry out alignments and measurements on different optical channels of the telescope of a satellite for the space industry.
Bertin Technologies needs two identical motion mechanisms with seven degrees of freedom. They will be used separately or simultaneously within two OGSEs. Several use cases are planned in visible light and in infrared.
The hexapods serve as a position reference for the optical bench and must therefore be very precise.
REALIZATION
SYMETRIE provides two identical hexapods equipped with an additional linear translation (Tx) integrated into the mobile platform to be able to cover all the angular cumulated strokes around a pivot point relatively far away from the mobile platform.
These two hexapods can operate horizontally, i.e. in the orientation which is the most demanding with respect to the forces in the actuators.
The system is entirely driven by ergonomic electronics and software developed by SYMETRIE.
