Expertise recognized worldwide
Mid-sized hexapods for precision positioning
SYMETRIE’s medium-size precision positioning hexapods offer the perfect balance between high precision and load capacity, capable of positioning components up to 400 kg with 0.1 µm accuracy. Their compact, rigid, and thermally stable design ensures repeatable and ultra-smooth motion, even in constrained environments where space and performance are both critical. Ideal for optics, metrology, synchrotron, astronomy and space applications, these hexapods provide reliable micrometric positioning for heavy and sensitive instruments requiring uncompromising stability and precision.
Mid-sized hexapods for motion simulation
SYMETRIE’s medium-size motion simulation hexapods combine speed, dynamics, and precision to reproduce complex trajectories with unmatched accuracy. Designed to support payloads up to 200 kg, they offer travel ranges of ±250 mm and rotations of ±25°, enabling high-acceleration, high-speed, and realistic motion simulation.
Capable of replaying trajectories recorded from inertial measurement units (IMUs), these hexapods are an ideal solution for testing, validation, and dynamic calibration of advanced systems. Perfect for aerospace, defense, research, and industrial applications, they deliver precise, responsive, and reliable motion control in a compact, versatile platform built for demanding environments.

FAQ
What kinds of movements can the Symétrie hexapod perform?
The hexapod can perform combined movements across its six degrees of freedom: three translations (X, Y, Z) and three rotations (Rx, Ry, Rz). This flexibility allows for complex adjustments that would be impossible with conventional guidance systems.
What is the accuracy or resolution of the movements?
Our hexapods achieve resolutions of around 0.1 µm for linear motion and a few microradians for rotational motion. Repeatability is one of our key strengths, ensuring the accuracy of every positioning operation.
What materials are used to make the hexapod?
We use high-performance materials such as anodised aerospace-grade aluminium, stainless steel and components specifically designed for demanding environments (vacuum, cleanroom, non-magnetic).
Is it compatible with different software or control systems?
Absolutely. We provide function libraries (SDKs) compatible with LabVIEW, C++ and Python, as well as specific interfaces for research environments such as EPICS and TANGO.
Is the hexapod safe for use in laboratories or in industry?
Safety and reliability are at the heart of our design. The software features configurable travel limits, virtual collision detection and hardware safety features to protect your equipment and samples.
