ICSO 2026

Symétrie is participating for the first time in the International Conference on Space Optics

Join us in Sorrento for the global space optics conference.

For the first time, Symétrie will participate in ICSO 2026 (International Conference on Space Optics), to be held in Sorrento, Italy.
Held every two years, this international conference brings together the key players in space optics: space agencies, research institutes, industry representatives, and laboratories developing the next generation of instruments for Earth observation, space exploration, and scientific missions.
For more than twenty years, Symétrie has supported major international projects by developing high-precision positioning solutions for the integration, alignment, adjustment, and testing of optical instruments for the space industry.
Our hexapods are used, in particular, during the critical assembly and qualification phases of telescopes, scientific instruments, complex optical systems, and onboard equipment, where the requirements for precision, stability, and repeatability are particularly high.
Thanks to their parallel architecture with six degrees of freedom, they enable alignment operations with submicron precision while meeting the specific requirements of space environments and high-tech test benches.

Come talk with our specialists

Our team will be on hand throughout the event to showcase our solutions for space applications and discuss the challenges related to the integration, positioning, and qualification of tomorrow’s optical systems.
We look forward to meeting you in Sorrento during our first appearance at ICSO 2026.

Our SOLANO hexapod will be on display at the trade show

FAQ

The hexapod can perform combined movements based on its six degrees of freedom: three translations (X, Y, Z) and three rotations (Rx, Ry, Rz). This flexibility allows for complex adjustments that are impossible with conventional guidance systems.

Our hexapods achieve resolutions on the order of 0.1 µm for translations and a few microradians for rotations. Repeatability is one of our strengths, ensuring the accuracy of every positioning operation.

We use high-performance materials such as anodized aerospace-grade aluminum, stainless steel, and components specifically designed for demanding environments (vacuum, cleanroom, non-magnetic).

Absolument. Nous fournissons des bibliothèques de fonctions (SDK) compatibles avec LabVIEW, C++, Python, ainsi que des interfaces spécifiques pour les environnements de recherche comme EPICS ou TANGO.

Safety and reliability are at the heart of our design. The software includes configurable travel limits, virtual collision detection, and hardware safety features to protect your equipment and samples.
